I didn't manage to keep very good track of the books I read this year. I also had pretty bad reader's block. These two things may be related.

January

Stuck Rubber Baby, Howard Cuse (gn)
Strangers in Paradise 1-19, Terry Moore (gn)

February

The Sparrow, Mary Doria Russell
Hello, Cruel World (parts of), Kate Bornstein

March

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, N. K. Jemisin
Strangers in Paradise 7-19, Terry Moore (gn)

April

The Rejected Body, Susan Wendell
Throne of Jade, Naomi Novik
Ooku vol 1-2, Fumi Yoshinaga (manga)
A Victory of Eagles, Naomi Novik
A Love Story Starring My Dead Best Friend, Emily Horner

---
The Thief*, Megan Whalen Turner
The King of Attolia* "
The Queen of Attolia* "
A Conspiracy of Kings "
Archangel, Sharon Shinn
Cryoburn, Lois McMaster Bujold
Sabriel, Garth Nix*
One! Hundred! Demons!, Lynda Barry (gn)
Four Ways to Forgiveness, Ursula LeGuin
Izzy, Willy-Nilly*, Cynthia Voigt
Selected stories from Firebirds anthology, ed Sharyn November
Distances by Vandana Singh
eta: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

*means re-read

Favorites:
Four Ways to Forgiveness by Ursula K. LeGuin
Four stories about two worlds growing, changing, and healing after a revolution.

The Rejected Body by Susan Wendell
A brilliant, accessible text about chronic illness as disability.

Least Favorites:
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by NK Jemisin.
I think I'm one of the 5 people in fandom who didn't like this book. The magic didn't make sense to me and I did not connect with the characters.

Four Ways sounds like a lovely book. I also love seeing "*insert number* things.." format outside fandom, though it's probably not a new thing. Which means I need to start reading books again, preferably soon. XD

You did a good job. I found keeping track of the books I've read through the year is one of my favorite things to do.

I didn't like the excerpt of 100K Kingdoms enough to even read the book. :/

heh. it's written by neil gaiman, but he's not to everyone's taste either. i read and loved the sandman series, but have bounced right off of most everything he's written that wasn't in comic form.

ah-- i love delirium best, and i love sieh best, and they are both children who are older and wiser than we are who want to play with dolls and bugs and will rip your heart out without blinking an eye.

i also have quite a fondness for river tam, and for the little martian fairies from podkayne of mars.
