I thought about the gay stereotypes issue for quite some time after reading this comment, and I'm not sure I have any answers there, or that I even know what I'm talking about entirely. I think it bothers me that the gay characters are there, but they are so sidelined and one-note; Elle really isn't friends with any of them. I love the Elle/Vivian reading a lot, and I'm going to browse Yuletide for fic.
