bonked head progress report

My spirits are pretty high considering, and I have retained my sense of humor. I do get lonely and anxious in the evenings. It seems to help if I talk to people and make sure to eat enough food. So, I'm talking on the phone way more than I have in years. It turns out I enjoy it when I get to talk to fandom friends and laugh about ridiculous things.

Hardest things right now: pain all over my body, slightly blurry vision, dizziness if I move too fast. It's hard to try to find things to do that don't make my symptoms worse.

I am grateful that I have so many friends helping to take care of me. I feel really lucky.

Watched: Mae Martin's comedy special "Sap." I loved this and laughed very hard. It's on netflix.
Finished "Shadow and Bone" season 2.

Mae Martin is on this season of Taskmaster. When the names of the contestants were revealed, I predicted that Mae would be the surprisingly competent one, because they are Canadian, but probably would not win, because they are Canadian.

First time watching this as a whole show, not YT clips.

Mae Martin has the most magical eyes, like they're visiting from another universe and those remote-control eyes are sending delight- and frightful images to another planet full of floating sloths.

I really liked Mae Martin in the Netflix comedy series Feel Good

Content notes for:

drug addiction (mostly in recovery);

mental illness (mostly in recovery);

and (towards the end of the series) discussion of something that happened many years ago - an adult taking sexual advantage of a teenager who was vulnerable due to having a drug addiction (a 16/17 year old?) - this is not portrayed on screen, it is all dialogue in the present

Yes! Mae did an excellent job of conveying someone en route to a different version of themself. Mixing up determination and desperation and pride.
