Inception
Saw Inception last night and liked it a lot.
My twitter review (non-spoilery) is this: Loved Inception! Gorgeous and thought-provoking. Should come w/ a trigger warning for suicide. Does not pass Bechdel test. Still good tho.
Inception has me reading fanfic after months away from it. Looking at delicious, the main slash pairing so far appears to be Arthur/Eames, which yeah that is a good pairing that I am enjoying very much, but where is the Cobb/Saito? This movie screamed Cobb/Saito to me! (Ken Watanabe: see icon.)

I am ill, miserable, worried about being ill. I'll do something and then find that I have to lay down for a while. Going to bed now.

And yes again to the movie screaming Cobb/Saitou. It also seemed to be telegraphing Arthur/Ariadne, but that might just be me.

And I liked that the movie did not go for romance, too.

As I said to someone else only hours later, it's hard to pass Bechdel when there's only one woman in the movie. We never once see the real woman that Cobb was married to - she's always a memory, always a projection of his guilt.
I agree, there should be Saito/Cobb; there was such a connection between them. (I was impressed by the quality of storytelling that took Saito from villain at the beginning to part of the team. I was left liking him when he could have been a cardboard cut-out just used to set the mission up.

Saito was the probably the most interesting person in the film! You're right that the journey from villain to team member was seamless. The intense looks between him and Cobb, "Let us be young men together again", oh that was great.

Thanks, I am feeling a little better this morning. :/

I enjoyed Inception, too. A. and I kept turning to each other during it with exchanges like these:
Me: Look at him. [Saito]
A: Look at his tie.
As someone says above, Chris Nolan dresses his actors really, really well.
