Once Upon a Time
I have watched 13 episodes of "Once Upon a Time" on Netflix in the last week. It is very addictive! It got me hooked just seven minutes in. I especially like that this show features a lot of women characters (in 3 main roles and several secondary roles). I also enjoy the parallel story telling between the fairy tale land and Earth land. There are at least 2 Stargate actors involved so far (Mr. Gold and Gepetto).
After episode 13 I am definitely tired of the soap-opera love triangle mess between Mary Margaret (Snow), David (Prince Charming) and Kathryn (King Midas' daughter). This will they or won't they crap just gets repetitive and emotionally exhausting and I have very little tolerance for it.
My favorite episode involved Graham, the sheriff, connecting with his wolf. This episode was the one that most clearly broke the boundaries between the two worlds-- most eps leave it ambiguous as to whether or not the fairy tale world is actually real, or a metaphor. This episode said: it's real! It went there. The stakes were being raised for all the characters. And it made me cry.
