Recently watched: Heartstopper, Netflix series based on the comic book of the same name. This is very sweet and very close to the comic. I liked it a lot.

Got in the mail: Enbrel!! Yay! My expensive medication that I finally finished all the paper work and phone calls for so i can get it free.

Today I did a bunch of prep for the WisCon vid party (notifications, posting the content notes) and watched one episode of Dark Angel w/ some_stars.

Great to hear the medication came through!

I really enjoyed Heartstopper too! I don't usually like things that are so sweet, but it (and the comics) are the perfect comfort story.

I hadn't heard of Enbrel so I googled it and I am so angry about how the US drug manufacturing system works. The patent expired in 2012 but they got a 16 year extension? The price keeps increasing and it might be twice as expensive in the US as other countries? I do a staby. Anyway it sucks you had to jump through hoops but I'm so happy your free prescription arrived!! I didn't know--do you have arthritis then?

The third person looks really interesting! I need to start a list of book recs I've gotten from my flist, for when I finally have the money and also the mental spoons to start reading things other than fanfic again...

Yeah the co-pay on Enbrel is close to 2 grand. it is very yikes!! I have had RA for IDK, close to ten years now.

I get most of my books from the library, and I find graphic novels / comics to be a lot easier to read than traditional books. They are having a moment right now, there's lots of good stuff out there!

I don't have arthritis but my fibro gives me constant pain and stiffness in my hands especially but most of my joints, so I can imagine a little how fucking awful it would be, knowing there's a medication that can help you but not being able to afford it. American health care needs to be completely redone >:|
