Recently watched: Heartstopper, Netflix series based on the comic book of the same name. This is very sweet and very close to the comic. I liked it a lot.

Read: The Third Person, by Emma Grove. Wow.

Got in the mail: Enbrel!! Yay! My expensive medication that I finally finished all the paper work and phone calls for so i can get it free.

Today I did a bunch of prep for the WisCon vid party (notifications, posting the content notes) and watched one episode of Dark Angel w/ some_stars.

Really enjoyed going to a lecture by Mariame Kaba tonight. She is a prison abolitionist. I sat near one of the books to prisoners folks, and I ran into another activist I know and chatted with her a bit (kate m.).

I live-tweeted it under the hashtag #prisonculture.

It's uplifting to be in a big room filled to the walls with people who are interested in learning about prison abolition. This is one reason being close to a university is a wonderful thing.

Other things I did today:
--washed about half the dishes
--Worked on a fanfic
--Rested.

stuff i did
--Had insomnia last night
--Went to humane society to volunteer. Had a good time.
--Went to dog park
--Bought groceries
--Exhaustion hit me like a brick and I slept for a couple of hours

Now I am still tired, but probably won't be able to sleep.

I forgot to mention earlier that my disability parking tag came in the mail about a week ago. This is a big milestone for me. I'm grateful to have it.

Here is another short film rec: An animated film about young love, "In a Heartbeat". Very sweet. No dialog.

Having a weird mood crash. It helped to get out of the house and do things, so I picked up another shift at the humane society. Also: air conditioning. It was 85 degrees F today (29 C), which is hot for this early in the season, and I'm not used to it yet.

I dropped off some clothes at Good Will and went inside to admire their newly remodeled store.

Went to the dog park. Mostly sat on a bench in the shade, and eventually some of the regulars came by so I sat and listened to them chat. Ended up spending close to two hours at the park.

Watered some plants. It's time for this asparagus fern to get rehomed, because it just stabbed me in the finger with one of its thorns. Some of the other plants I have look a little rough from being newly placed outside.

Picked some strawberries from the back garden and am eating them right now!

I broke a glass today and a plate yesterday. Dropping things and not-quite-grasping things is one of those weird RA symptoms. I think my anxious/depressed mood is a combo of missing WisCon people and having inflammation and the hot weather.

Possibly overdid it today.

Started my new shift at Humane society, which will be Tuesday 1-3, sorting donations. Really liked the woman doing orientation, and enjoyed the shift. She explained things well and was friendly. She told me a little about her former job (before she retired) which was doing labor audits, investigating things like overtime and child labor violations.

I went to the vet to pick up more Apoquel for Abbie (this helps her allergies).
Next I stopped at the post office and waited in line about 20 minutes to mail a couple of things.

I forgot about swimming until I got home, and decided I would lay down for a few minutes before hand. Well, I fell right asleep and slept right through swim class. I'd set an alarm but turned it off. Abbie woke me up to go out a while later, at which point I watched a little TV and changed into my PJs.

Even after being sick for years, it's very difficult to gauge my energy. I'm hoping by writing down my activities I'll get a better idea.

It is very cold today; I'm grateful for central heating and indoor plumbing and warm wool clothes. I think about our ancestors surviving this weather (and worse) and I think about homeless people.
