dog!
My life feels so much more right now that I have a dog. She was dropped off at my house at about 7:45 this evening. Her name is Susie but that is probably going to change. Thorin Oakenshield? Neko? Feel free to make suggestions.

A nearly all-white greyhound sleeping on the grass. She has a little light brown (fawn) color on one ear. This photo is from the adoption folks.

Can't wait til she's ready to meet your extended family!
Neko is nice, but quite different sounding to Susie. How about Woozy? Nookie? /going to be now.

I second Jesse's point that you may want to choose a name similar to Susie, so she's less confused about who you're addressing. Some years ago I read a theory that dogs paid most attention to the vowel sounds in their names, so changing consonants is usually successful but changing vowel sounds is harder - I have no idea if this is still the prevailing theory.
Of course, if Susie is a name given by the foster family and not one she's had for years then perhaps she's not very accustomed to it anyway and would learn a new name of any kind with the same ease. In which case I vote for Neko. :)
Please feel free to disregard if name advice is not useful/welcome, of course. Yay dog, regardless!

I'm terrible at names. My dog got named after the street he was found on (or when he found his people, rather).

Though if she's anything like my hound was, almost all foods will be favorite snacks (as we quickly discovered when he went for my pizza). And some non-food items (Gum on the sidewalk? Om. Nom. Nom.).
