Highlights of 2012
I am reading back through my journal in order to look over my year. A year is a long time!
In January I got to see
thingswithwings and Rory and we watched Festivids with
were_duck. Twings and Rory came back through in February, and I really enjoyed their company, and Twwings said the fateful words, "You should get a Greyhound!" I did.
In April I adopted my Greyhound Sorcha. Best decision ever! Since then I've gone to the dog park regularly and my life has been much happier.
I worked on my anxiety in therapy and worked on forming more queer friendships.
All year, variously, I tried to improve my GI symptoms, culminating with food quest in the summer, during which I did some ridic food restrictions. None of this actually worked. It seems that for me, trying to get better doesn't help.
In May I went to WisCon as usual. I presented a themed vid show called "The Abuse of Authority", on violence and power, at the vid party. (
wiscon_vidparty).
I wrote one fanfic, which was for
kink_bingo. I watched a whole lot of movies and TV.
In June I started having trouble with my joints, and eventually I got diagnosed with Rhuematoid Arthritis. Hey, it's my first actualfax diagnosis!
In August I went to a fan meet up at
fullygoldy's house and met some great folks including
devildoll. We watched a lot of vids and ate great food.
For the first time, I exhibited my photos: at a staff/faculty show at work. This was fun.
I totally pwned in a comment.
I played a lot of Glitch, and then mourned its ending.
In November I started dating someone.
Best movies:
End of Watch
Premium Rush
Best Books:
Dante and Aristotle Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
The Alvin Ho series by Lenore Look
So, I was sick a lot, and anxious a lot, but a lot of good things happened.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for turning me on to Lenore Look's amazing Alvin Ho series. Right now it's up among the ten best books where characters live with a disability. And funny! And tears!
I wish someone had saved the #fannishCV thread, cause a) I'd love to see it and b) might it be the germ of a panel?

The Fuckin' Race panels I've attended have made me lose my mind laughing so hard, so I can't remember their structure. AFAIC recall, Sparky wanders a back and forth and people tell hilarious stories. Can you recall more detail?
