I am reading back through my journal in order to look over my year. A year is a long time!

In January I got to see [personal profile] thingswithwings and Rory and we watched Festivids with [personal profile] were_duck. Twings and Rory came back through in February, and I really enjoyed their company, and Twwings said the fateful words, "You should get a Greyhound!" I did.

In April I adopted my Greyhound Sorcha. Best decision ever! Since then I've gone to the dog park regularly and my life has been much happier.

I worked on my anxiety in therapy and worked on forming more queer friendships.

All year, variously, I tried to improve my GI symptoms, culminating with food quest in the summer, during which I did some ridic food restrictions. None of this actually worked. It seems that for me, trying to get better doesn't help.

In May I went to WisCon as usual. I presented a themed vid show called "The Abuse of Authority", on violence and power, at the vid party. ([community profile] wiscon_vidparty).

I wrote one fanfic, which was for [community profile] kink_bingo. I watched a whole lot of movies and TV.

In June I started having trouble with my joints, and eventually I got diagnosed with Rhuematoid Arthritis. Hey, it's my first actualfax diagnosis!

In August I went to a fan meet up at [personal profile] fullygoldy's house and met some great folks including [personal profile] devildoll. We watched a lot of vids and ate great food.

For the first time, I exhibited my photos: at a staff/faculty show at work. This was fun.

I totally pwned in a comment.

I played a lot of Glitch, and then mourned its ending.

In November I started dating someone.

So, I was sick a lot, and anxious a lot, but a lot of good things happened.

Last year [personal profile] thefourthvine posted a big poll asking "what would improve your life in 2012"? I clicked "more love."

I'm pleased to say that my wish came true. In April I adopted my dog Sorcha, and in late November I started dating someone. I also get a lot of love and support from my family and friends, and have been feeling that lately. My heart has grown.

I think for 2013 I will wish/ask the universe for more money and/or financial stability.

Sorcha had a mishap at the dog park yesterday. We were walking in the dark (normal for work days). She was running and must have hit a hole or something; I heard a loud barking noise and turned my flashlight to see her stumble and fall. After that she wanted to leave, and when I got back into the light at home I saw that she had a cut on her leg, and basically a black eye.

I took a photo of her poor little face. She got some doggie aspirin in cheese, antibiotic cream for the cut on her leg, and a bandage.

She is doing much better today and went back to the park for a nice frolic. She seems to be feeling fine.

My dad and I were discussing dogs via email and he wrote, about their Border Collie:
"Tegan managed to get too close to Tiki [one of the family horses] and got kicked. Just caught her above her eye, enough to cut and bleed. Looks like it’s healing. That’s how close she came to being not a dog. Maybe that’ll teach her to be more careful."

I love my dad's emails, they are really funny.

If you too would like to play [community profile] kink_bingo, you can sign up at the comm! This is such a great challenge, very well-organized and thorough.

My card is under the cut!
