Vid meme day 8

lim, which I can't say I yet understand, but I watch it a lot, and I love it. This is a well-known, multi-fandom vid, a tribute to fandom and a complex piece of art and meta. If you haven't seen it, you should watch! This vid has been analyzed and talked about by people smarter than me; it seems to me that it has things to say about how we as fans view and interact with our media, our favorite actors, our stories; about how we are the actors, about how other view us. The dots forming networks that connect everything, us to each other, us to the stories, the stories to each other through the actors. If ever there was a vid that rewarded multiple viewings and discussion, this is it.
The other one I feel like I am seeking to understand is Origin Stories by
giandujakiss, Buffy season 7. I heard this vid discussed at a WisCon panel when I was first getting into vidding, and I could tell that I was *not* getting it. I am still not getting it, and I am OK with that. I sometimes like feeling that things are just beyond my reach of understanding, that I have to work for it, that it's going to take me a while to figure out, that's it OK even if I don't figure it out in the same way that other people do. Vids are open to interpretation. There are disturbing things going on in this vid (*warning* for image self-harm), and it's a dark look at season 7, and makes me want to watch that season again right now. The complex relationships of Buffy, Spike, Wesley, Robin Wood, the slayers and their messed up history, all the watchers, all the new slayers. This is another vid I watch a lot.
