My answers:
1. Great Pyrenees, a large fluffy dog used for guarding livestock. Also called the Pyrenean Mountain Dog (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrenean_Mountain_Dog). Known for being smart, patient, and calm, also big.
2. A greyhound dog and a spider plant.
