I get that cons need to know in advance if you need accommodations. But I really, really hate ones that get intrusive, especially with the 'well, people might lie to get good seats' justification. It's not cons, but this type of accessability policy basically drove me out of the SCA- there's a lot of SCA events that require you to apply to bring a service dog in advance, only accept 'certified' service dogs, and are incredibly intrusive about 'why' you need a service dog. One large event requires a doctor's letter. There's a lot of social pressure surrounding the whole thing and just... yeah. It sucks. I kind of miss the SCA because there's not really equivalent for arts-and-sciences elsewhere if you're interested in recreating period methods and crafts (I have no desire to wear heavy armor and be hit with a stick) but it was defintiely enough to keep me from going back.
