Fun tidbit: The actress who played the oldest sister (Deb? I only remember Julie and Kay's names off the top of my head.) played Julie in the stage production before the movie came out.
(Less fun tidbit: the US marketing tried to push it as mostly being about Chris O'Dowd's character with the girls as supporting characters, though at least O'Dowd himself was pretty vocal in his opposition to the marketing.)
