Finn the snake

My roommate and I got a snake!



His name is Finnegan; we shall likely call him Finn after the Star wars character. He's a corn snake, orange and yellow, with red eyes. Very beautiful! My roommate's friends had too many snakes and were looking to re-home some, so we got the tank and items for inside the tank-- the whole deal.

We went over to get him and he rode in the car in a cloth bag, up next to roomie's body to keep warm. He's hiding right now; I will try for a picture later.

Snakes eat dead mice that you can buy frozen, but apparently don't need to eat all that often.

Yay snake!! I'd love to get one, but I'd be unable to feed the poor thing. ;_;

It is pretty gross, no gonna lie.

I think a turtle would be a good choice since they eat salad (i think).

Snake! "Sneks" is one of my very favorite subreddits. Just a bunch of people being goofy about beautiful snakes. I've never owned a snake; the only reptilian pet we've ever had was a chameleon named Taco. He ate crickets...which had to be dusted in calcium powder beforehand. It always felt like ceremonially anointing the virgins before their sacrifice. >_

That's hilarious. We admired some chameleons at the pet store and they are incredible! The eyes and the feet are fascinating.
