I've enjoyed listening to John Green's podcast, The Anthropocene Reviewed.
https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/anthropocene-reviewed

The episodes are engaging, well-produced, and a nice length. Green "reviews" all kinds of different things, weaving together aspects of his life with thorough research. I like how he is willing to change his mind about things, and is a bit self-deprecating. I enjoyed how wide-ranging this show is.

Some of the episodes are intense, so here are some content notes, below the cut. Each episode discusses two things, but they are divided by an ad break.

Chemotherapy: this is the only episode I could not finish, because it discusses a drug I had a sort of bad experience with (I took it for RA). I got far enough to know that it discusses cancer, including in children.

Sycamore trees: depression.

Harvey: intense depression and eating issues.

The seed potatoes of Leningrad: starvation during WWII.

Viral Meningitis: pain and illness (p.s. I loved this ep).

Googling strangers: child harm.

Cholera: illness.

Diet Dr. Pepper: this one had a weird reference to diabetes, playing into the myth that sweets and soda cause diabetes. An unusual error from this usually well-researched pod caster.

Thanks for the rec and the warnings. I've enjoyed John Green before, so I might check these out! Also, A+ Garak icon.
