Netflix notes

More stuff that I've watched recently:
American Factory - Netflix
This was a well-made documentary about a shuttered GM plant that re-opens, several years later, as an autoglass factory run by a Chinese company. Originally there is optimism, as unemployed folks get re-hired. But then problems start to arise like safety issues, firings, and conflict between union organizers and anti-union folks. Interesting and engaging, but depressing.
Lost in Space, season 2 - Netflix
I liked season 2 better than Season one, and I'm not sure why. The characters are well-written, smart, complex people; the kids are written especially well. The premise of this show is one emergency after another, which is exciting, and it's fun to see the characters come up with creative solutions. There's a thread running through that is about giving people second chances, having faith in people, trying to communicate peacefully with the robot aliens. It's a dystopian world, but the heroes are people trying to do the right thing. Suitable to watch with your family. Content note: a horse dies.
