Up until my recent watchthrough of Umbrella Academy, it had been decades since I'd thought about that Bay City Rollers song.

When I was in college, someone in the room next to mine played "Gloria" more or less 18 hours a day for weeks. I still like the song.

I was surprised when I clicked through.

sasha_feather is referring to Patti Smith's version which only shares a chorus with Van Morrison's Gloria I -- which played endlessly on the car radio in 1964.

The video you linked to was truly strange. The vidder missed a chance to transform its subject from a russet to a sweet potato for the last chorus, and then blew it up!!!! That came as a shock since this is a lullaby: bombing the baby won't guarantee a restful night.
