Vidding is proceeding, but I have run into a couple of problems.
The main one is: My clips have audio attached and I'm not sure how to get rid of the movie audio. I'm ready to keep going with clipping other movies, but would like to sort out this problem first. I have several vid ideas and have imported media for 2 of them.

I am using DaVinci Resolve on Mac. I did watch part of a tutorial but people on YouTube tutorials tend to talk way too fast for me.

I'm committed to going slow. I've learned more about how to acquire source and I'm getting more comfortable with Resolve software. I've clipped almost all of movie #1. I searched around and found lyrics for song #1.

I've been watching and enjoying TaskMaster. My face is hurting a lot lately so it's been good to have something cheery that requires little concentration.

Hello! I'm visiting by way of Twitter. I'm not sure what your workflow or OS looks like, but here are some general ways you can get rid of the audio.

Clipping on the Edit Page
You either dragged your Source into the Media Pool, or maybe you imported it using your system folders. Either way, you now have a Video file with Audio (an episode, movie, YouTube rip, whatever) ready to drag over to your timeline.

1a. On a PC, ALT+drag (OPT+drag on Mac) your Source from the Media Pool to the Timeline. This will bring only the video track.

1b. If you forget the ALT+drag, or you already have clips with Audio+Video on your timeline, you can ALT+click and drag to select all the Audio bits, then hit Backspace to remove them.

1c. You can also do this 1 clip at a time, either with the ALT=select audio + Backspace OR by right-clicking the clip and clicking Link Clips from the pop-up window. The control is called "Link Clips" and it's used to link or unlink selected Audio and Video clips.

A YouTube video showing 1a and 1c, plus a 4th option that involves double-clicking your file in the Media Pool and manually selecting the Video-only icon. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXk8F6l_DBo

Clipping on the Cut Page
Here, you can use the track head control icons (lock, audio, video icons) to toggle off/on Video and/or Audio separately. This way, when you make your IN and OUT + Insert Edits, you only get what you selected.

Here is the DR 17 Manual. Don't be intimidated by the size of it! Resolve does LOTS of things and most of them are pretty well documented with words and pictures. (159 MB) https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/UserManuals/DaVinci_Resolve_17_Reference_Manual.pdf?_v=1620802810000

Take your time and have a great journey!
