some thoughts on Dark Angel

sasha_featherSome thoughts about Dark Angel (TV year 2000 ish, not streaming that i know of; I own the DVDs).
1. This is the most anti-cop show I think I've ever seen and I love that so much. In this era there were fewer cop shows but I'm struggling to think of any that were anti-cop like DA is.
2. While season one is better written, season 2 has some of the greatest characters. I love that there are more mutants in season 2 and some of them are weird looking.
3. There are frequent jail breaks and plot lines that revolve around prisoners being exploited and captivity being bad, I love that a lot too.
4. Max is my role model and hero. She is very kind to people that she considers to be "her people". She is very fierce and bad ass to people who are the enemy. Every once in a while you see her shift rapidly in her evaluation, like, ok I thought this was an enemy but actually they are a friend, or vice versa. Then she just acts on that knowledge and doesn't get hung up on it.
5. Especially in S1 it's about the people who are on the bottom; Logan and Max and others fight for these people. This includes squatters, sex workers, prisoners and parolees, disabled veterans.
