I saw the film Moon today with
kal. I knew almost nothing about it going in other than it stars Sam Rockwell, whom I have a big crush on ever since he played Crewman #6/Guy Fleegman in Galaxy Quest.
This film starts out rather 2001-ish, with a man, Sam Bell, his robot companion, Gerty (voiced by Kevin Spacey), and a quiet moon base where Sam works, all alone, on a 3-year contract for his energy company.
It gets steadily more interesting as Things Are Revealed. There are moments of unexpected humor, warmth, and heartbreak. The sterile lunar base makes for a haunting and interesting setting, and Sam Rockwell is fabulous to watch.
I rate it 5 moon craters out of 5.
Go see it!
