Dear Festividder,

Thank you for making a vid for me! I will most likely enjoy whatever you make, so please don't stress about it too much.

I may put more details here later.

Stuff I like: queer stuff, diversity in TV and movies, kink, romance, warm feelings, found family, activism, animals, friendship, science fiction and fantasy, hugs, kissing, sexually explicit scenes, fluff, dancing, angst is OK too, disabled characters, fat characters, characters of color, music by marginalized creators, tough women, soft men, action and adventure, OT3s, OT4s, any genre of music.

Stuff I dislike: Songs by abusers*, rape scenes, suicide scenes. I'm not fond of ableist lyrics, including common lyrics like "blind" and "crazy". I don't like slurs in lyrics either. Swear words are fine though, as are sexually explicit lyrics. Not into torture scenes.

*Search the artist's name and "abuse" or "harassment", see if there are reputable links; if not you're probably good.

Requests:
Rūrangi (2020) [SAFETY], trans guy returns to his rural NZ hometown and reconnects with people there. I loved the romance and friendship in this!

God's Own Country (2017) [SAFETY], Rural queers, raising sheep! I am a queer who grew up on a hobby farm where we raised sheep, so this story is very dear to my heart.

Travelers (TV), Time travel drama with soft men and tough women! I especially like Trevor and Phillip. Grace is also super interesting!

Spy (2015 movie) [SAFETY], super funny Melissa McCarthy comedy with f/f vibes. I would love a gay take on the main characters.

Pride (2014) [SAFETY], Queers organizing to help aid miners on Strike!

The Expanse (TV), Space Opera with so many cool characters. I esp. love Naomi, Drummer, Bobbie, Amos, Prax, and Chrisjen.

120 battements par minute | BPM: Beats per Minute (2017) [SAFETY], Gorgeous and heart-breaking movie about Paris ACT UP.
I wrote a bit about this film here: https://sasha-feather.dreamwidth.org/1259299.html

Terminator: Dark Fate [SAFETY], fun time travel action adventure. I loved the 3 women in this and the f/f vibes.

Impressed with Josh Thomas' "Everything's Gonna Be Okay" (EGBO), I tried out his previous show "Please Like Me" on Hulu. I have mixed feelings and may or may not continue with it.

I enjoy Josh Thomas' awkward gay humor. I'm not as into the premise of this show, which is about a character (also named Josh) taking care of his mother, who has a mental illness, and also about Josh's friends and dating life. In particular, his best friend is someone I find annoying, and there have been a few racist moments in episode 1-5. It doesn't feel as warm as EGBO. I'm going to keep going, though! We'll see.

The other show I checked out this weekend was "The Big Leap," also on Hulu. I absolutely loved this scripted show in a reality-show setting. It's about a group of people who are amateur dancers; they audition for and join a cast that are going to be producing Swan Lake. There are several gay men, a couple of fat women, many Black characters, and people from various class backgrounds. The main producer of the show tries to ramp up the drama in order to make compelling TV, and sometimes he's an ass about it, but mostly the show believes in its characters and likes them. There are 4 episodes currently.
