sasha_featherI really loved the new Tomb Raider!
Alicia Vikander does a great job as Lara Croft. She is very athletic-- she gets to race a bicycle, shoot a bow and arrow, climb cliffs, and (several times) dangle off of ledges and pull herself up from them. She saves herself multiple times, and ultimately saves the world.
Right away her character appealed to me as a Dark Angel fan: she is tough, loyal, brunette, and a bicycle messenger / courier.
Daniel Wu's character, a boat captain who helps Lara, is also great. I expected a romance between these two, and was pleasantly surprised that the film didn't go there. Lara seems oblivious to men who have crushes on her.
