some season 2 ted lasso thoughts

Crossed fingers, I seem to be doing better. I am still feeling pretty sick in the first part of the day, but improving as the day goes on. And sleeping a lot. I am glad for the company of my parents and the dogs. Sally (my parents' dog) is a little shit sometimes but she is only 2 years old, heh. On the agility competition we watched, they call cross-breds "all American" which is cute. Sally can be an all-American little shit. 😆
I'm watching Ted Lasso with my dad, and I think he's gotten more into the show now that we are in season 2.
here be spoilers through the beginning of season 3.
Roy is right and Keeley is wrong in the Christmas episode; if Phoebe is allergic to the cat where she has to take anti-histamines, and then take another medicine for the side effects of the anti-histamine, then they should get rid of the cat. Keeley is leading with her emotions here and it's understandable, but she is wrong.
Keeley is also in the wrong in episode where she is talking about Roy behind his back and he gets mad about it. She should talk directly to him and Rebecca says so. But this isn't really addressed; instead Roy apologizes for... not reading her mind? This was a weird episode.
Maybe the fact that they aren't communicating that well here is a hint towards their break-up at the beginning of S3. IIRC Roy makes a big romantic gesture but doesn't ask her about it first.
Overall I enjoy this show so much, but it makes more sense to me as a fantasy show. "Beard After Hours" confirms this approach for me.
Absolute bangers:
"Every person is a different person."
"Be curious, not judgmental." (apparently taken from Walt Whitman.)
Rebecca is a goddess of course but she seems to prefer super-tight clothing; the kind that is in style for women on TV lately, where the dresses wrinkle and ride up and show everything. They look super uncomfortable and like they would be difficult to move or really do anything in. Please let comfortable clothes come back into style. Sharon the sports psychologist wears such beautiful and comfortable-looking clothing, stylish and professional; it's a relief to look at her.
Nora is amazing and I hope to see more of her but I doubt we will. S3 is the planned final season.

Sports is one of the few places where cis-het men can demonstrate intense emotional displays without shame from their peers and their socialized sex roles.
Rebecca's presentation reminds me of Chrisjen Avasarala's: tall women with glowing hot presence.
Benefits to memory loss: I'd completely forgotten "Beard After Hours," and now I want to rewatch thanks to Linda Holmes' recap
