As much as I love the references to the patriarchy, I wonder if I should be saying kyriarchy. I'm not even sure how to pronounce that word.
A note on inclusive language:
"Those of us with disabilities."
"The queer community is our community. It is us."
Meditate on that one.

KEE-ree-ar-kee is pretty much right.

Date: 2009-10-29 05:35 am (UTC)Ted Nelson, the guy who invented hypertext, is the only person ever to have made a pun on my real name, which is Kirrily. I was involved with a friend of his, and my friend mentioned this to Ted, who said, "Oh, so you're having a Kirrily liaison?"

"Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy."
Being a child of the sixties, I learned this from the Electric Prunes' Mass in F Minor.
Also d_c, that pun is awesome!
Now as to the nut: Out to the barricades, my comrades! We are us!

Date: 2009-10-29 12:16 pm (UTC)sorry though, I can't help but get out of this new term a mental image of my daughter being bossy to her brother and her friends, LOL
Also, I have a fondness for "lararium" for a similar reason, and have mentally dubbed my home office "the lararium."
