Here is another cute picture of my dog, which is reminiscent of that luck dragon in the Never Ending Story.







Once I get approved for the dog park email list, I'm going to send this note about my dog getting bitten today.



Sorsha, my white Greyhound dog, was bitten today at Quann park at about 3:15 pm near the South gate. The dog that bit her appeared to be a small-to-medium sized black dog named Loki. The owner did not stop to see if my dog was OK--- they merely called their dog off and left the park. They had another larger dog with them also. Sorsha's injuries will heal, but the behavior of this other owner really upsets me. Sorsha's green coat was torn also, and she fell down on the ice. It was not a minor scuffle. I understand that things happen between dogs, but it would have been nice if the other owner hadn't left immediately.

She's adorable!! I'm so sorry about the bite!! Is she okay? Is she getting plenty of cuddles? Oh, that's awful.

She is OK! It doesn't seem to be hurting her much. She just got off the couch (where she was next to me) and is now eating her kibble.

I've never really grabbed on to what Sorsha's personality was, but that scarf tells it all. Did you carefully pose her, or was she happy to glory in her elegance and velvet.

The bite is AWFUL!! Did it tear her dear delicate skin? Can you patch the coat with duct tape or something similarly awful?

I softened it a bit and already posted it to the Quann park list.

I didn't pose her. :) She loves pillows and soft things. She does have a tear in her skin which my mom advised not stitching, because then infection could get locked in. It seems OK. The coat is only minorly torn too.

I'm so happy to know that she knows her own fabulousity! I'm wondering if we could make a sort of infinity scarf which could wrap around her neck and shoulders and all the way back to her hips. But would somehow stay up off the ground. Kinda cape action?

...you softened it, and I was going to suggest three ways to make it harsher. Cause I am well and truly pissed at that jerk.

oh, I'm so sorry about the bite! I've been in my share of dog park scuffles, from pretty much every side (my dog the aggressor, my dog being picked on, someone else's dog biting me, everything in between) and the other owner's behaviour is awful. No excuse for that.

Poor baby. I'm glad she's doing okay.

I'm generally down on dog parks, because too many people have no clue. Dog body language is really not that hard to learn, once you know what to look for. Dog bullies need time outs, and some dogs just don't enjoy being in that environment, and shouldn't be there.

We love the dog park and go every day-- for nearly 11 months now. This is the first time something like this has happened. So it's pretty rare all told. It's true that some dogs don't do well there. Maybe this dog was't used to the park.

I'm sorry your beautiful girl was hurt like that. Pet owners should realize that there are times your responsibility isn't limited to your own pet only and they should always take it.
