Recs: Sherlock, Inception

Principles of Morality, by nishizono. Sherlock. Holmes/Lestrade, age difference fic (Holmes is 18 and Lestrade is 32).
First I clicked over to the one that the author says inspired the story, an Inception fic, and read some of that. It was OK, but this fic is better: it's a real relationship story, with interesting characterization and a complex relationship arc going on in the series. I hope there is more of this series in the future. Well written and engaging, and I suspect because of the pairing, not as well read as it could be. I like age difference stories! There is a lot to be explored there, and also-- such relationships do happen and can be successful, especially in the queer community where the dating pool is somewhat smaller.
Marriage a Trois, by sorrel. (Link to podfic post, but I read it in text). Sherlock Holmes. John Watson/Mary Morstan, John/Mary/Sherlock.
This is from Mary's point of view and wow, does she light up the page. It is so refreshing to read about a determined, intelligent woman who can put Holmes in his place with a word. She very carefully constructs a life that she wants, first by marrying John, then by managing Sherlock Holmes. This fic is light on sex, heavy on smart characterizations.
Asteroidea and sequels by etothepii. Sherlock/His Dark Materials fusion. (link to podfic, but I read the text)
A brilliantly conceived and brilliantly written story. I've been thinking about this one for weeks! It's just so smart and sexy. I read the fics in the author's recommended order and enjoyed watching the mystery unfold.

This is perhaps THE perviest piece of fic I've ever read (grin!). It's dark, it's creepy, and it's surprisingly hot. It is also well written. I really enjoyed it.
Discovery by solvent. Inception. Arthur/Eames. Lawyer AU.
I thought I was done reading this pairing, but this fic changed my mind. It is a portrait of two very controlled men. They hook up one night in a rare moment of being uncontrolled, before going back to their regular selves. What did it for me was the embodiment: Arthur thinks about how he looks too young, and too severe, how he holds his jaw tight. He gets an expensive hair cut before his new job. He notices what he wears and what Eames wears; notices Eames' body language and expressions. All that made me see and feel what was happening. This one has also stayed with me for days.
