can anyone help me with a chrome browser issue? i followed online instructions regarding zoom but it is not applying my instructions. I also restarted the computer, and no dice.

I have Chrome zoom set to 125%, but when i load twitter and tweetdeck, it reverts to about 55% zoom. I have to adjust it with every page re-load. This doesn't seem to happen on random other websites, but I can't find anything within twitter that adjusts zoom.

ETA: went to tool bar, View --> actual size. This fixes the problem temporarily but does not save? I just had to do it again. This is just super annoying and frustrating!

Ctrl+ and Ctrl- will quickly zoom in and out for you, if you find keyboard shortcuts preferable to going to the toolbar all the time. Not sure why it doesn't save! Any chance you ever followed someone's instructions to set up some kind of custom styles for Twitter?
My only other suggestion would be to clear your browser cache-- annoying in other ways but might solve this.

There are some nifty Chrome extensions which let you specify and apply an individual zoom value for every site:
Dark reader
NoSquint Plus

In the meantime -- View actual size is equal to command-zero

No Squint has two modes of action, accessible through the "Global Settings" button at the bottom left of the menu when you click its toolbar icon.

In the middle of the "Zoom Options" settings, the Zoom Method has a choice between
CSS API -- NoSquint adds its own style sheet to whatever site you're visiting
Chrome API -- NoSquint modifies Chrome's internal style sheet.

Not all sites will look optimal with one method, but it doesn't look like NoSquint can remember CSS v Chrome on a site-by-site basis.

I've tried out many different extensions for this, and I do know that when I have more than one active, wacky things can ensue. So if the page is suddenly tiny or huge, I just quit & relaunch. (Using OneTab to keep all my precious distractions up to date.)

No, I have no clue. (Another reason why I compose my DW posts in a text editor.)

Great Q for [site community profile] dw_accessibility … wait, I searched. Only mention I see is an un-replied-to comment from 2011

So, if you post on dw-a, I will reply and boost your signal!

Oh ... is that the "in line reply," that is, the one that opens up in and closes back down on your reading list -- when you only see your reply, and none of the others?

Take a screen shot

Here's the step-by-step
Press Shift-Command-4.
Move the crosshair pointer to where you want to start the screenshot.
Press the mouse or trackpad button, then drag over the area you want to capture.
When you’re ready to take the screenshot, release the mouse or trackpad button.

To cancel, press Escape before you release the mouse button.
