I'm trying to get more into audio books as a way to get reading back as a hobby. There's a bit of a learning curve. I'd like something to do with my hands while I listen, as a way to help me focus. Something that requires passive attention, but does not trigger RSI pain. Still experimenting with this. I'm a bit bored of all my familiar computer games.

Today I listed to Murderbot #3, Rogue Protocol I think is the title. It's harder to remember titles when you don't have the paper book in your hand. I found my attention drifting some during the action parts, but I got the gist of it, and I like the reader, who is Kevin R. Free. I think he was on Welcome to Night Vale. I enjoy Murderbot's humor. There's somewhat of a trope of the grumpy warrior who keeps saving people and making friends despite themself; I love this trope. Think Wolverine (X-men), and the Mandalorian. All I need now is for Murderbot to adopt a wayward child.

I'm a bit bored in general; I don't have enough energy to do interesting things, or like, the executive function I can borrow from other people's energy when doing things together...because we mostly can't do things together these days.

My parents have got their first dose of the vaccine. A relief.

Grateful for my roommate, who cooked dinner tonight.

I'm definitely bored. It's not that I can't think of anything to do: it's that I don't really want to do those things, which is probably because of being lonely, sad, and/or tired. I'd rather do things with other people.

I miss books to prisoners a lot. So today I made sure it was OK to go into the space, and I went in and opened up boxes of donations. It felt so good just to do something useful, even if my back was cranky about it. I'll probably go in again tomorrow.

Blooming right now: the bean Catalpa trees, of which there are 4 in the neighborhood. My roommate said they look like trees out of a Studio Ghibli movie. Huge, heart-shaped leaves provide wonderful deep shade. The flowers are a cone of white blooms. Later in the year, long bean pods droop from the trees and fall onto the ground.

I bought a small fucshia at the garden store and it has one blossom and some buds. Today I moved some hosta plants in the backyard; I took them out of the full sun and planted them behind the building where it's shady. In the small garden plot out back, I have spaghetti squash and red cabbage, and it's fun to go out in the morning and water them with the hose.

I was bored enough, or let's say inspired by Queer Eye, to organize one of the kitchen cupboards and do a small bit of cleaning. I find this show to be very heartwarming and uplifting.

Hello! I am doing OK and hope you are too. I felt awful earlier today but went back to sleep for a while and after that, things were better. I am going to try and embrace this night life instead of fighting it, for the time being. I also asked for help with getting groceries, since grocery delivery is overwhelmed with orders right now and is a bit tricky to navigate. It's not like I loved going to the grocery store, but I loved being able to just go get food whenever I wanted to, including the middle of the night. Stores that used to be open all the time are closed now at night for cleaning and re-stocking.

I really appreciate folks who have reached out. Doing video phone calls has been great-- it's easier than regular phone calls for me. I suppose I get a lot of information from facial expressions, and it's easier to pay attention and not zone out.

People are creative and resourceful. We'll get through this together.

Had an arthritis day today, plus the delayed sleep issue is going strong. Feeling much better now at night! So I decided to work on sorting through my closet. I got through jackets, skirts, and dresses. I rarely wear dresses these days but they are nice to have in the summer.

My life is not that different under quarantine, except there is just this general feeling of stress in the air. My roommate is working from home-- I'm very glad to have a roommate and a dog at this time.

I also relied a lot on books to prisoners for social time, and for something to help me feel useful. B2P is on hiatus and we are not sure what to do.

I read several graphic novels/memoirs that I checked out from the library, before the library closed. I especially enjoyed "They Called us Enemy" which is about George Takei's experiences in an internment camp during WWII.

I played through the story mode on "Lego Jurassic World" which I really enjoyed. Lots of running around the jungle. Might start a replay of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Hello! I am fine. Playing lots of video games, and walked the dog at the park today.
